Mermaid Man Cleans Up is a The Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy comic featured in Nickelodeon Magazine and Comic Crazy...Take 2!. In the comic, Mermaid Man uses his telepathic powers to call the denizens of the deep to clean the Mermalair.

[edit] Plot

On the first panel of the comic, the following words are shown:

LAST ISSUE,
MERMAID MAN
WAS LOCKED IN
BATTLE WITH HIS
ARCHENEMY,
MAN-RAY! USING
HIS MENTAL
TELEPATHY,
MERMAID MAN
WAS ABLE TO
CALL FOR HELP
FROM HIS MANY
LOYAL UNDERSEA
FRIENDS!

Man Ray is being attacked by the denizens of the deep, who Mermaid Man had called in using his telepathic powers. As Man Ray swims away, he vows to return. Barnacle Boy tells Mermaid Man he thinks they've seen the last of him, and Mermaid Man tells him "Yes, Barnacle Boy, let's head back to the Mermi-Lair." When they return to the Mermalair, however, they find that it is a mess. Barnacle Boy tells Mermaid Man that it'll take hours for the Mermalair to be cleaned up, but Mermaid Man gets an idea and, using his telepathic powers, calls his aquatic allies to clean up the Mermalair, as shown in the panels and explained by these words:

ONCE AGAIN,
MERMAID MAN
USES HIS TELEPATHIC
ABILITIES TO CALL
UPON HIS LOYAL
AQUATIC ALLIES
TO LEND A HAND...
...BUT INSTEAD OF
BATTLING CRIME,
THEY'RE ASKED TO
BATTLE GRIME!

The denizens of the deep clean the Mermalair in "no time flat," and Mermaid Man decides that there are a few more household chores that need to done. He calls his aquatic allies to help out around the Mermalair as explained here:

YET AGAIN, MERMAID
MAN SUMMONS THE
DENIZENS OF THE
DEEP TO HELP OUT
AROUND THE HOUSE!

Panels show a swordfish sewing some pants, an electric eel "connecting" itself to a power outlet to light a lamp, a hammerhead shark nailing a picture, a fish scrubbing the Mermalair's toilet and an octopus vacuum cleaning while Mermaid Man sits on a recliner and tells him to make sure he gets behind the couch. Man Ray suddenly returns, as he said he would. Mermaid Man calls for his aquatic allies again as explained here:

ONCE AGAIN, AN OH-SO-FAMILIAR
SIGNAL FOR HELP GOES OUT
INTO THE OCEAN BLUE...

The denizens of the deep refuse to help this time, and Barnacle Boy asks Mermaid Man "Do you think we overdid the chores?" Man Ray then punches Mermaid Man, and the comic ends on a cliffhanger with these words:

HAS MERMAID MAN
REALLY USED UP ALL OF
HIS GOODY TICKETS? FIND
OUT IN THE NEXT ADVENTURE
OF MERMAID MAN AND
BARNACLE BOY!
