Plot

Squidward finishes making a sculpture of himself. Meanwhile, outside, SpongeBob and Patrick are playing a game. They throw a clam but it hits Squidward's sculpture. They go in Squidward's house and panic because they think that Squidward is dead. They try to fix the sculpture but it melts. Squidward comes out of the bathroom with white powder on him so they think he is a ghost and agree to do everything he commands. Squidward tells SpongeBob to play a song with tissue paper but SpongeBob can't. As punishment, Squidward forces SpongeBob and Patrick to clean his back room. It is full of junk so Patrick asks how they will clean the mess up. SpongeBob rips the wallpaper off and the room is clean. He sees a comic book on the floor. He opens it and it says that the Flying Dutchman was used as a window display when he died and that he haunts the sea because he was never put to rest. SpongeBob says that he and Patrick should put Squidward to rest. However, Squidward doesn't want to be put to rest. When SpongeBob and Patrick try to bury him, Squidward confesses that he's not dead and that they should leave him alone. SpongeBob says that Squidward is a ghost in denial and that he needs their help. Later, when Squidward is lying on his chair, SpongeBob encloses him in a bubble and he floats to the surface. Squidward finds out he is with seagulls and the episode ends.
