Lord Poltergeist is a pirate poltergeist who appears in the episode Ghoul Fools. His name is never mentioned in the episode proper. He also appears in the online game Nickelodeon Mystery Mansion.

[edit] Info

Lord Poltergeist runs the Haunted Houseboat that broke down in Bikini Bottom. When SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star enter his houseboat, Patrick does not think that he is a real Poltergeist, but rather a robot while a scared SpongeBob thinks he is a ghost. However, Patrick finds out that Poltergeist is indeed a real ghost when he makes a pizza with anchovies on it. This greatly scares Patrick, who quickly tries to sacrifice SpongeBob for safety, but Poltergeist is unimpressed and sarcastically remarks that SpongeBob had a good friend.

Poltergeist then sends them out to get a new head gasket for his ship, claiming that he will keep their souls if they fail. He gets the help of Squidward Tentacles, Eugene H. Krabs, and Sandy Cheeks to give Poltergeist the gasket. However, once he gets the head gasket, it is revealed that Poltergeist does not really have their souls; they were actually old orange sodas that were left out in the sun for too long. He does have lots of sacks of gold doubloons, and Mr. Krabs, Patrick, and Squidward try to steal away from him. SpongeBob does not like the idea.

When Poltergeist witnesses Mr. Krabs, Squidward, and Patrick trying to steal his money, he demands them to stop. They ignore him by running away, although he catches them in "the Void," a blank space where they are forced to suffer "eternal torment;" Krabs' torment is an outhouse that costs one doubloon to use, Patrick's torment is being unable to eat a donut on his head (though Patrick doesn't mind), and Squidward's torment, obviously, is SpongeBob as a giant demon.

Sandy uses her ghost-catching equipment to bring everyone out of the Void. Soon, SpongeBob finds out that Poltergeist's gold that Mr. Krabs wants actually belongs to the Flying Dutchman. When the Dutchman finds Poltergeist, the latter claims that he was searching the seas for the former to give him his treasure back, but this is a diversion for Poltergeist and the others to escape in the haunted houseboat. However, the engine room breaks down again and the houseboat crashes.

The Dutchman then turns himself into a giant torpedo, blows up the houseboat and curses everyone, sending them to the Void. Poltergeist is last seen greeting customers in the Krusty Krab (now called the "Kursed Krab"), which was somehow brought into the Void.
