The Realistic Fish Head is the anchorman for Bikini Bottom News. His real name is unknown. He also appears in the show's intro and serves as the narrator of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy-related content. His co-worker, Perch Perkins, covers news on-scene while the Realistic Fish Head usually stays inside. He usually speaks in a dramatic tone of voice, provided by Doug Lawrence.

- He seems to have a different voice in No Free Rides and Suction Cup Symphony.
- The reason for this in the former is because it was Mrs. Puff's imagination.
- He also hosts The New Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
- In the video game Battle for Bikini Bottom, his name is Johnny.
- Likewise, in The Great Patty Caper, Perch calls him "Elaine."
