Then, Patrick comes in and makes SpongeBob admit that he is ugly and proud of it. It works, and SpongeBob's confidence grows, so they go to the cinema. When they go in and sit down, all the fish still avoid SpongeBob. All of the fish leave the theater. Patrick eventually gets hungry so they go to get a snack, but no one is at the counter, so SpongeBob gives Patrick some of his sundae. Suddenly Patrick has a stomachache after he eats the sundae, so Patrick goes to the Gents. When a guy runs away from Patrick in the toilet, he thinks he has caught the 'ugly' from SpongeBob. SpongeBob smells Patrick's extremely smelly breathe, and concludes that they are not ugly, they just have bad breath from eating the "sundae". After they realize this, they run around shouting "WE STINK!" and they melt down the movie theater. In the last scene, SpongeBob and Patrick run into Squidward Tentacles and say, "Guess what Squidward? WE STINK!" Squidward looks confused and SpongeBob and Patrick run away laughing.
The episode starts on a Sunday. Every Sunday, SpongeBob has a sundae for breakfast but today he's out of ice cream. SpongeBonb uses ketchup and onions. SpongeBob wants to put peanuts but Gary ate them all. He gets the peanut plant in his bathroom and puts all of it in the sundae. Gary is driven away by the terrible smell of the sundae. SpongeBob pulls out his Sunday to-do list which says, "Say hi to everyone in [[Bikini Bottom]]." He says hi to a few citizens but they all run away. SpongeBob notices what appears to be a giant wad of bubble gum on a bench. The bubble gum turns out to be Patrick and SpongeBob asks him why everything is running away from him. Patrick suggests that it is his voice and the way he dresses but they don't work. Next, Patrick says that maybe SpongeBob is just ugly. SpongeBob doesn't believe it until Patrick pulls out a big mirror and SpongeBob sees his reflection killing itself. He asks citizens of Bikii Bottom if he is ugly but two fish bit hooks and were pulled to the surface and the other one's boat exploded. Later that night, Patrick walks into SpongeBob's attic to ask if he can borrow bath beads. SpongeBob turns around wearing a cape, glasses and a fake nose and moustache to hide his ugliness. Patrick tells a story to cheer him up but it only makes him feel worse because it involves an ugly barnacle killing everyone with its ugliness. Patrick tells SpongeBob to scream so that he will feel better. It works and they go to watch a movie. However, everyone in the moviehouse runs away because of SpongeBob's bad breath. Later, SpongeBob and Patrick go to the snack bar but no one is there. SpongeBob remembers the sundae and gives some of it to Patrick. Patrick eats all of it and goes to the bathroom. Everyone in the bathroom runs away so Patrick is convinced that he caught the ugly from SpongeBob and he hides in a stall. SpongeBob walks in the bathroom and smells Patrick's bad breath. He realizes that the sundae gave them very bad breath and they're not really ugly so they cheer and run out of the moviehouse shouting "We stink!". Because of all the bad breath, the moviehouse disintegrates. SpongeBob and Patrick run to Squidward, hug him and run away, ending the episode.

SpongeBob and Gary The Snail wake up and realize that it is Sunday. Therefore, SpongeBob decides to have a sundae, but when he looks in the freezer, there is no ice cream left. So, SpongeBob decides to use something else. He uses onions, ketchup, and peanuts from the peanut plant he has been growing in the bathroom window. Little does he know, SpongeBob gets rancid breath. SpongeBob then gets out his Sunday list. It says, "Say hi to everyone in Bikini Bottom." Everyone in town avoids him because of his bad breath. He approaches a giant pile of bubble gum sitting on a bench. It then morphs into the body of Patrick Star. SpongeBob tells him that he is confused, and Patrick does not notice the stench since he doesn't have a nose. He says that everyone is avoiding SpongeBob because SpongeBob is ugly, and SpongeBob looks in a mirror. It looks okay, but when SpongeBob says, "Hi!” the reflection smells his breath, readies a hammer and smashes itself. SpongeBob is shocked by this, and isolates himself in his home.
