Plot
SpongeBob and Patrick are playing tag when Squidward notices that they are in his yard. He tells them to stop doing it, then SpongeBob try to find ways to communicate. They try to use the road, but there is traffic, then Patrick tries to mail himself, but the mailbox falls over and explodes. SpongeBob then attempts to get to Patrick, but he misses, and SpongeBob's mailbox hits SpongeBob's head, stunning SpongeBob. After SpongeBob recovers from the stun, SpongeBob tells Patrick to call SpongeBob. Then, they call each other and SpongeBob suggests a tunnel. They dig the tunnel and play the day away. Squidward, however, can hear their playing and tries to find the source of the noise. He gets angry and stomps the ground, causing the roots of his plants to dance. SpongeBob and Patrick do the "Dirt Dance" and bump their heads on the ceiling/ground, causing Squidward to find the source of the noise. Then Squidward's house gets buried and Squidward takes the door on his roof. He tells them to dig his house out, but SpongeBob REALLY sinks it by striking a dirt gusher. Squidward threatens them to dig his house out or else he will "grind [them] into chum". He then chases them and SpongeBob and Patrick accidentally sink Bikini Bottom. The Bikini Bottomites now have to dig the city out.

- There is a scene where Squidward is chasing SpongeBob and Patrick and they dig under a rock and it falls on squidward, This scene is a parody of dig dug.

- Gary is actually nice to Squidward in this episode, But in The Thing and other episodes Gary is mean to him.
- Plankton says the Krusty Krab sunk then his own restaraunt sinks into the ground. This is like how Mr. Krabs says the Chum Bucket is destroyed then his own restaraunt gets destroyed in Slide Whistle Stooges.
