The reason for the protection of your user page is simple. 90% of your edits are on your user page, only 10% in article name space. It would be nice if you contributed more to the project SpongePedia instead of just caring about a fancy user page. And please note also: Every time you save an edit to your page, it saves your entire user page into the server cache.

'''1.''' Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this prior to saving. This allows you to check what the page will look like first and to check that you haven't made any errors. It also prevents the need for multiple saves. Saving the same article a large number of times in quick succession makes it harder for people to check what changed, and clogs up the page history.

[edit] Vocabulary

This may not concern you, but remember correct vocabulary with words. Such as: Spell SpongeBob with a Capital S and a capital B for bob. Not spongebob, not SpongeBob, not spongeBob, but SpongeBob ! Please also use every character’s name with a capital—example: write [[SpongeBob SquarePants|SpongeBob]] and when you click "Save page" it will come out with a link like this: SpongeBob!

Enjoy SpongePedia and I hope you succeed in this site. Please, contact any of the Team on their talk pages if you have a problem :) Welcome to the Database. If you wanted to join SpongeNews though, you should have asked. But you are more than free. Just stay safe.--Miles Edgeworth 10:56, 21 November 2010 (PST)

[edit] Your user page

The reason for the protection of your user page is simple. 90% of your edits are on your user page, only 10% in article name space. It would be nice if you contributed more to the project SpongePedia instead of just caring about a fancy user page. And please note also: Every time you save an edit to your page, it saves your entire user page into the server cache.

So all in all there are 2 points to keep in mind:

1. Below the edit box is a Show preview button.

2. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your resume, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account. The focus of user pages should not be social networking, or amusement, but rather providing a foundation for effective collaboration.
