Plankton goes away and leaves instructions for Karen on how to take care of Spot, but Spot immediately escapes from his leash and rips up the paper that the instructions were on. Karen yells "bad Spot," and while she is trying to figure out what to do she accidentally runs Spot over. She starts to panic and thinks she's killed him. Then SpongeBob rings the doorbell. Karen tries to hide Spot from SpongeBob and SpongeBob tells her "Gary and Spot have a play date today, remember?" Karen lets SpongeBob in and asks him for help. SpongeBob tells Karen that this happens all the time when Gary and Spot play together, then he walks over and tickles Spot and he goes back to normal. After that, they go on a walk and when Gary sees a fire hydrant, he puts his slime all over it. When Spot sees the fire hydrant, he puts his acid on it, making it melt and causing a huge pile-up. Gary starts rescuing people while Spot runs away.

While Spot is running away, Plankton calls and informs Karen that he had to leave early because the place he was staying in caught on fire. When they get back to the Chum Bucket, Karen makes a lunch of chum. The only problem is she doesn't program it to stop so he grows bigger and bigger until he destroys the Chum Bucket and many other buildings. When Plankton gets home, he immediately starts to fight with Karen but they aren't paying attention to Spot who is floating away.
