This is the timeline of SpongeBob's universe. It says the episode (or part of the episode) that took place during that time. And what important happened.

Millions of years ago
- SB-129, Squidward invented the sport of jellyfishing.
- Atlantis SquarePantis, the Atlanteans came from their native planet and blew the oldest bubble.
- Bikini Bottom population is 23.
A few centuries later
- Ugh!, SpongeGar, Patar and Squog discovered fire , bubble blowing is founded , the warm and fast food are invented , probably the first war-fight and maybe the art.
Middle Ages
- Dunces and Dragons, the two chosen ones came, and King Krabs invented Krabby Patties in 1199.
- Atlantis SquarePantis, Atlantis dissapeared.
- The first Neptune dynasty takes throne of Bikini Bottom after the Krabs dynasty loses power in the 12th century
- Many places are created like bowling ball area and old folks home.
Victorian Age (1800s)
- The Battle of Bikini Bottom, Bikini Bottom was split in half and the Battle of Bikini Bottom 1 was fought.
- Rule of Dumb, the Stars take power of Bikini Bottom.
- Pest of the West, SpongeBuck deafeats Dead Eye and becomes sheriff. Great-Great Grand Pappy Krabs invented the spendthrift billfold system. Patrick Revere warns the people about the mollusks.
- Grandpappy the Pirate, Redbeard Krabs makes a pirate crew.
- The Stars lose power, and the second Neptune dynasty take the throne.
20th century
1900s
The Great Snail Race, in 1901, the Snail Races are started, and Larry Luciano won.
20s-30s
- Mermaidman and Barnacleboy are born.
- Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV, in 1937, Mermaidman first used the utility belt.
40s-50s
- Friend or Foe?, on November 30, 1942, Eugene Krabs and Sheldon J. Plankton were born. They both make the Plabs Burger which causes Old Man Jenkins Sr. to die in c. 1950. In the same year, Stinky Burgers was closed for good, Mr. Krabs rediscovered the Krabby Patty secret formula, and Plankton found a female computer named Karen, who would later be his W.I.F.E.
- Krusty Krab Training Video, sometime in the 50s, Mr. Krabs bought a bankrupt retirement home called the Rusty Krab and put a K in front of the first R.
- Hooky, in 1959, the Chum Famine swept across Bikini Bottom
70s-80s
- Plankton's Army, in 1979, Plankton had his first attempt to steal the Krabby Patty formula.
- The Original Fry Cook, Jim joined the Krusty Krew. And he quit at least 2 years later.
- The Fry Cook Games, in 1980, the fry cooks games as started, and Mr. Krabs and Plankton won gold.
- Seen on SpongeBob's licence in Sleepy Time, on July 14, 1986, SpongeBob was born. Patrick was born on the same year (presumably).
1990s
- Chimps Ahoy, in 1998, Sandy moved to Bikini Bottom.
- Help Wanted, in 1999, SpongeBob joined the Krusty Krew.
