Time/Date

  • Sometime before Krusty Love took place. - How do we know this?

Plot

Mr. Krabs is brushing his teeth, when he hears Pearl yelling for help. Glad to help her, though she is going through a growth spurt. But without a speck of food in the house, Mr. Krabs decides to steal free foods from Conch Street (Mrs Puff's house didn't quite work). He starts with Patrick, for a bowl of cereal. Then Squidward for everything in his house. But SpongeBob thinks he is having a sleepover, when Squidward apears to call a police. But SpongeBob fixes Pearl by making one krabby patty and the ingredient was "love," somehow.

Trivia/Goofs

  • Somehow, Squidward's house spoke.
  • At the end, Pearl is so big that if she stood up,she would get a huge hole in the Krusty Krab, then again in Squeaky Boots, under the Krusty Krab's is just flat solid sand.
  • Most of Patrick's food in this episode is made of sand, like his other furniture. Since Patrick is a bottom feeder, he is able to survive on just sand, and likely only eats other foods for flavor, in the same way SpongeBob eats. SpongeBob could rely totally on filter-feeding, since he's a sponge, but he eats other foods because they taste good. But Patrick ate real food in Rise and Shine
  • This is the fourth time that Pearl wasn't embarrassed by or didn't get angry at Mr. Krabs. The first was Culture Shock. The second was Bossy Boots. The third is Tentacle Vision, but loosely.
  • The title is a play on words of the phrase growth spurt.
  • This is the second time a worm spits on Mr. Krabs. The first time was in Pet or Pests.
  • The title card music is the same as Imitation Krabs.
  • In this episode Mrs. Puff does not know Mr. Krabs at all, but in Krusty Love she knew Mr. Krabs, but this episode might take place before Krusty Love. Or she must of forgot who he was.
  • It doesn't make sense that feeding Pearl more food would make her stop growing. In actuality, the more she ate, the more she'd grow.
  • Since Pearl's room is on the 2nd floor, Mr. Krabs brought a full refrigerator up stairs in less than 30 seconds.
  • How would Squidward know that Mr. Krabs stole some of Squidward's food?
  • The episode never showed how Mr. Krabs got Pearl into the Krusty Krab.
  • SpongeBob adds love to every Krabby Patty he makes, like the one to fix Pearl.
  • Pearl turned 16 in Whale of a Birthday. 16-year-olds don't have growth spurts. The only possibility is that this takes place a couple years before. - Actually, that's not true. It's uncommon, but not impossible, for 16-year-olds to have growth spurts.
  • This is the first title card to have whales.
  • When Mrs. Puff throws the crowbar at her fence, that post turns into the shape of a crowbar.
  • In the episode Rise and Shine Patrick eats coral, but in this episode Patrick eats sand molded food.
  • A giant Pearl is true because whales are big in real life.
  • When Pearl started to grow, her bed broke. Mr. Krabs said he paid $30.00 for the bed when Pearl was a newborn.
  • When Pearl grows, her clothes grow as well when they are supposed to rip and be torn.
  • Why would Pearl have a grouth spurt when she is already huge?
  • This episode premiered in the uk on 19th February 2010
  • This is one of the few times SpongeBob wears his pajamas. Others are Yours, Mine and Mine, Breath of Fresh Squidward, Night Light, The Slumber Party, A Day Without Tears, and New Digs.
  • In this episode, Mr. Krabs tells Squidward to hang up or he is fired. But on New Leaf he is forced to dance or he is fired, and on Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V, he is forced to save the world or he is fired, and Squidward does.
  • The German title is Der Wachstumsschub, which means The Growth Spurt
