The Rusty Krab was a retirement home in Bikini Bottom, which was later bought by Mr. Krabs, who turned it into The Krusty Krab. The Rusty Krab was only seen and stated in the Krusty Krab Training Video. Ever since The Rusty Krab was shut down, Shady Shoals has been the only known rest home in Bikini Bottom.

• In Grandpappy the Pirate, Mr. Krabs says that the Krusty Krab used to be a boat, and that it was always called the Krusty Krab, but in the Krusty Krab Training Video, he says that the Krusty Krab used to be a retirement home. This is a plothole[1].
