When the store is out of SquarePants, SpongeBob tries on round pants. However, his friends don't recognize him anymore. He tries to start over and gets a job at the Krusty Krab. But he copies Squidward and gets in big trouble.

- The title is a parody of the saying "To be or not to be".
- The titlecard music is the same as Patty Caper, The Thing, Karate Island, Friend or Foe?, Roller Cowards, Shuffleboarding , Porous Pockets, To Save a Squirrel, Wigstruck, and Suction Cup Symphony.
