But happiness was soon crushed and realization struck Spongebob and Patrick when the Cyclops looked directly down at our two protagonists (most likely because he finally heard Spongebob when he asked,"Um, Stranger?"), discovering that this abnormally large, "Stranger", who saved them from the evil Dennis, was the even more atrocious Cyclops who guards the horrendous Shell City that Princess Mindy had warned them about. He then picked up both Spongebob and Patrick who tried to run away in a brief chase scene, but failed. The Cyclops scaring Spongebob and Patrick in a glass bowl

The Cyclops (portrayed by Neil Ross) is a large, male diver with vintage hardhat diving equipment who appeared in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie as the tertiary antagonist who Plankton sold Neptune's crown to. The anonymous diver owns the dreaded Shell City and is feared by all inhabitants of the sea, mainly because he looks frightening, is gigantic compared to marine animals, captures sea creatures, and dries them out under a constantly burning heat lamp in Shell City to sell them as "smelly knick-knacks (as seen in the movie)." In the movie, we discovered his existence when Mindy warns our protagonists about the infamous diver guarding Shell City in the beginning of the movie telling them not to let him catch the two. Later in the movie, with not exactly knowing it, we finally see the heinous diver when he helped SpongeBob and Patrick by stepping on Dennis, crushing him with his weighted boot Spongebob and Patrick call,"bigger boot", saving both heroes from Dennis (at the moment), but not from The Cyclops himself. Patrick was just about to make a run for it, when Spongebob notified him that the monstrous hardhat diver's "bigger boot" had saved them from a quick, but painful death, being stepped on by Dennis' spiked "big boot" so that way they would never find out that Plankton stole Neptune's crown. They showed gratitude towards the pernicious diver for saving them from Dennis about to kill the two, referring to the Cyclops originally as, "Stranger", for not knowing his true identity, and thinking they were completely safe with the unidentified giant. Spongebob and Patrick fainted a couple minutes after they were captured, so the Cyclops decided to stuff them in a grubby bag to regain access to both hands so he could drive his boat back to his very own Shell City and proceeded to hold Spongebob and Patrick captive in a glass bowl. He displayed what he was going to do with the duo once he killed them by making a diorama of, "Alexander Clam Bell", out of a dead clam in front of the duo's glass bowl using his, "evil instruments of torture" (which was just googley eyes and glue he took out of his toolbox)while humming as if he had fun doing it. Also scaring the two for personal amusement by sneaking up behind them and stalking them until they notice. Once he had done these two things, he grabbed Spongebob and Patrick and placed them under his heat lamp so they would dry up and die. Before their death, they both cryed a single tear which shorted out a circut causing the fire sprinklers to set off. Apparently they're in the bathroom too because after the two proceed to lift Neptune's crown, you see the Cyclops (who was in the bathroom while the duo was slowly drying up) picking it up and giving Spongebob and Patrick a growl before the sea creatures the Cyclops had killed were revived and began to beat him up as revenge.

Looks

The Cyclops is very large, wears worn down, vintage hardhat diving gear (rough gloves, dented, brass helmet, weighted boots, grimy suit, faded understrap, slightly loose weight control belt, etc.) and doesn't even take it off on land, possibly because he is too excited about selling his knick-knacks or just to scare the marine animals he captures for entertainment or to maintain dominance among them. He is known as the Cyclops because the obvious assumption, made by fish and other marine animals, that he has one eye (which is really the single, florescent green window in his diving helmet)--a reference to the ancient Greek myths about Cyclopes.

Lines

The Cyclops hardly has any lines in the movie at all. You mostly just hear him evilly laugh and breathe heavily. His other lines are just a growl, humming,"Huh?", and,"Uh-oh."
